Good News Club: Bringing Children Hope

Looking at the state of the world, it’s clear that our children need all the love and support possible, so that they can become leaders in their communities. The world needs hope, love, and Biblical values, and the way to spread those things is to instill them in the next generation. How can we accomplish this lofty goal? Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14) and we take that command seriously. That’s what the Good News Club® strives to do: encourage little children to come to Jesus.

  • What is the Good News Club? It is an outreach of Child Evangelism Fellowship, a child-friendly, weekly 90-minute session where kids learn about God (including what the Bible teaches about life, truth, right and wrong) through stories, songs, and games. All children are welcome, without any cost, as long as they have their parents’ permission. Parents can come too if they want!
  • What do kids learn at Good News Club? They learn so much! Good News Club teaches kids that God loves them, and that each person has value. They also learn that God is with them and can help them do the right thing, find victory in hard times, show love to others, and much more. Good News Clubs teach timeless Christian morals such as “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, “ (Matthew 7:12).
  • Where does Good News Club take place? It meets kids where they are, in schools, community centers, churches, and even neighborhood homes. The teachers are screened (according to strict California child protection laws) trained, and well-equipped to lead these action-packed clubs, and they’re excited to bring the timeless truths of the Bible to kids in an age-appropriate style. At Good News Club, children learn the Gospel, and some make their own decision to put their faith in Jesus as their personal Savior.
  • How can you help bring the Gospel to children? Good News Clubs are only possible because of people in the community who care and want to be involved. Does that sound like you? If you have the desire to bring the Word of God to 6-12-year-old children, CEF NorCal will teach you how to do that using methods and special visual aids that we have developed over our 85-year history. You can become equipped to help, teach, or lead a Good News Club in your local school or church.

At CEF Norcal, we’re determined to share the Gospel in any and every space we can. Our missionaries are constantly on the lookout for new ways to reach children, whether by sharing the Gospel with families at local fairs, partnering with churches to do drive-through Gospel presentations, or hosting one-time party clubs in public schools. With your help, we believe that this year we’ll reach even more children for Christ. To learn more about the work we’re doing, visit our website. Or consider volunteering with us or applying to be a hands-on missionary, a teacher, someone who helps support a local club, or a committee or board member.
