KIDS

  • “I like when we sing songs and when we have games. They teach us about Jesus and that He is our friend.”

  • “I like it (GNC). I learn about the Bible, and they explain it to me in a way so I can understand. We read stories in the Bible, and I learn verses. I like the pictures in the Bible they gave me. I think it’s good we get to learn about God at school.”

SCHOOLS

  • “Our principal is very receptive to us being there. She said she prays for us.”

  • “A’s mother stopped by the school office and said she was so grateful that our club was at the school. She said A and his two friends came home so excited and happy about their experience at Good News Club!”

VOLUNTEERS

  • “I started a 2nd career at age 53 and was a first-grade teacher at Chavez school, Richmond, CA, for 7 years! During my tenure, I noticed many of the children had no knowledge of the Bible and did not attend church! After my retirement I had the opportunity to become a Good News Club teacher. I accepted the call to teach the Gospel in the public school environment, and I still continue ministering to GNC kids today, while in my 80s! It has blessed me personally and allows me to pray for student needs and some family needs! I know many of our children will be in Heaven because of what they learn and hear in the Good News Club!”

  • “I hear insightful responses from the children about who God is and what He means to them. They are learning more and more about God every week! So glad that I can be a part of what God is doing with this generation!”

IMPACT

  • We prayed for a child before going to her doctor appointment and next day she came up to me saying, “Because you prayed for me, the doctor didn’t find anything wrong with me. Thank you for praying for me. You’ve got my back.” Then, I told her it was Jesus loving on her and He answered our prayer. Jesus has your back. She was really happy.

  • It took all year long, but we got to have a party club at the school. Thirteen students attended and one received the Lord as her Savior. We also have 8 more students who want to sign up, and 4 moms and 4 dads who want to volunteer to help the GNC next year!

  • Different programs were in session when we arrived for the Good News Club, but our students came out to the classroom because it was club time. We taught the memory verse and the Bible lesson. When we gave the invitation, the children had questions. We answered them and asked, “Would you like to believe in Jesus today?” Three children said yes! After praying, the youngest girl looked up and said, “I already know something is different about me!”
